With the increased number of under-privileged, low-income, and minority children in this Two childern playing at the black boardcommunity, more children are being left behind and alone to fend for themselves. Mentoring is one of the best chances for a turn around in a child's life.

One to One's programs address multiple issues for the under-privileged children in our region:

  • Crossing language/cultural barriers for Hispanics/Native American children
  • Providing an extended family member for the service industry/working class community
  • Networking families into community resources, like health insurance
  • As children become involved with a mentor, they become less likely to be involved with drugs/alcohol or dropping out of school Two childern playing at the black board

Additionally, One to One faces financial challenges such as,

  • We do not charge tuition or fees
  • We do not have a financial parent base
  • the high competition for fundraising events with 75 other non-profits in the region

Over the past 4 years, non-profits have increased by 300%, and foundation funding has decreased by 50%. Therefore, One to One is seeking Board of Trustee members, which is an agreement to contribute $5,000 a year for 5 years in order to maintain the sustainability of these programs.

Please consider becoming a financial donor with the One to One family. Without your financial support, these programs would be just another "good idea".
